MACKERNIUM® HQ-1000 is a polymeric quaternary ammonium salt of hydroxyethyl cellulose that offers moderate viscosity building. Its cationic nature makes it substantive to hair, providing excellent conditioning, combability, and anti-static benefits in shampoos and conditioners. In skin cleansers, MACKERNIUM® HQ-1000 imparts softness and slip for an improved sensory experience.

Iscaguard HOD is a multifunctional ingredient for use in cosmetic preparations. It is a blend of glycolic emollients which are used to improve the skin and hair conditioning properties of a formulation. By minimizing water loss from the skin, Iscaguard HOD imparts a soft, silky feel to end products. Additionally, due to its intrinsic antimicrobial properties, it can be used to create “self preserving” formulations.

VARISOFT® EQ 65 MB is a readily biodegradable ester quat with excellent conditioning performance. It improves the conditioning properties of wet and dry hair and can also act as an emulsifier providing a sensory profile typical of cationic emulsions.

Conditioners including VARISOFT® EQ 65 MB have a very rich and creamy appearance. In a cream rinse treatment, this ester quat showed an excellent rinseability and was more easily rinsed out of hair when compared to Behentrimonium Chloride (VARISOFT® BT 85 Pellets), a high-performance conditioning agent.

This product can be dispersed in water at approximately 75°C. The addition of nonionic emulsifiers such as Ceteareth-25 would improve the processability of this product in water.
