Used as a natural rheology modifier in personal care emulsions, gels, and jelly formats, frequently in combination with xanthan and provides good transparency (especially in comparison to other starch thickeners). Ideal as a natural thickener in aqueous PC formulations (shower gels, hair and face masks, hair gel, styling mousse, aqueous hair care applications etc.)

AGENAJEL CLEAR is a powder and can be used for cold processed formulations, and it is recommended to make re-dispersion of AGENAJEL CLEAR in oil or glycerine, if feasible. In water, intensive stirring is required to disperse the product without lumping.

The Versagel HSQ product (Versagel HSQ 200T) offers a silicone-free alternative to oil-based and emulsion formulas. The gelled structure is based on Hemisqualane (C13-15 Alkane) combined with patented block copolymer technology. Hemisqualane is a non-volatile emollient derived from plant sugar and is inherently biodegradable, ECOCERT-approved, NPA Natural Seal Certified, and a USDA Certified bio-based product. It provides a light, non-greasy and silky feel, and serves as an effective alternative to petroleum and silicone- based ingredients. The gelled version provides additional benefits of a rheology modifier and a suspension agent for a wide range of cosmetic and personal care applications.

Properties

Efficacy testing of a Versagel Hemisqualane hair serum formulation (VG HSQ) demonstrated that VG HSQ improves key properties such as shine and frizz compared to a commercial benchmark (Frizz Ease) which had a high silicone content. Shine Improvement was measured using a Samba instrument while Frizz Reduction was measured via curl reversion after humidity chamber exposure.

TEGO® Solve 55 provides very good solubilizing properties for essential oils (e.g. Rosemary, Lavender or Lemon oil) as well as for perfume oils. TEGO® Solve 55 is also suitable for AP/Deo applications including Aluminum Chlorohydrate (ACH).  INCI: Polyglyceryl-3 Caprylate/Caprate/Succinate; Propylene Glycol

A ultra-mild surfactant according to RBC tests and shows mildness improvement in surfactant solutions. It can give good skin feel properties and acts as a humectant to provide moisturizing benefits (Corneometer studies).

A low foaming in water, so premixes with perfume or essential oils and water can easily be prepared. In surfactant mixtures, no effect on the foaming properties has been observed.

Furthermore, TEGO® Solve 55 shows almost no influence on the odor or color of the final formulations.

Can be used in Oral Care formulas as well.
