Procedure for A Sprayable Caress

Prepare phase A dispersing the thickener using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson) for 15 minutes and heat it up to 75-80°C. Prepare phase B and heat it up to 70-75°C. Add phase B to phase A and homogenize for 5 minutes using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson). Cool down to room temperature under gentle stirring (50-100 rpm). Add phase C using a suitable dispersion unit (Silverson).

This Biphasic Sea Glass Spray SPF 30 has a light and fresh texture and achieves stability without the use of an emulsifier. The combination of Hallstar® Octyl Isononanoate, SolaStay® S1, and HallBrite® BHB helps polarity, viscosity, and density, allowing the formation of two phases. The result is an extra-liquid sunscreen spray that is very easy to apply. Biphasic Sea Glass Spray can also protect hair against the drying effects of the sun. In vivo testing in a US laboratory (5 subjects) yielded static SPF 37. Colipa Guideline (2011) delivered SPF ~34 and PFA (PPD) ~11 performance. Critical wavelength = 375 nm.

Procedure for Biphasic Sea Glass Spray SPF 30

  1. To a secondary vessel, add Phase A and start mixing. Heat it to 60°C – 70°C.
  2. Add Phase B into Phase A and mix until uniform, and then start cooling.
  3. To the main vessel add the liquids of Phase C, start mixing; then add the EDTA and sodium chloride solid and mix until uniform.
  4. Slowly add Phase AB to Phase C under gentle stirring

Procedure for ZnO-Only Sunscreen SPF 30

  1. To a secondary vessel add phase A and start mixing. Add phase B with mixing. Heat to 80°C and then add phase C.
  2. To the main vessel add premixture of phase D, start mixing and add phase E. Heat phase DE to 75 – 80°C and then add phase F.
  3. When both phases are homogeneous and at their designated temperatures, slowly add phase ABC to phase DEF with prop mixing.
  4. After 5 minutes of mixing, homogenize batch for 5 minutes, and then start cooling with central mixing.
  5. When batch is < 50°C, add phase G with mixing
  6. Continue mixing until batch is at room temperature, replacing any water lost to evaporation and mixing until smooth.

Procedure for Natural Sunscreen Butter SPF 50

  1. To the main vessel, add Phase A and start mixing and then heat to 80°C.
  2. Add Phase B into Phase A and mix until uniform.
  3. After 5 minutes start cooling batch and when batch is <70°C, pour into chosen container and cool down.

Product Characteristics (25°C)

Appearance: Off white cream
