Description

Synovea® EL is Ethyl Linoleate, a lipid-soluble and oxidation-resistant form of Linoleic Acid (LA)—an essential fatty acid vital for skin health and nourishment. Unlike free LA, Synovea® EL offers enhanced formulation stability, making it ideal for high-performance skincare products. In vivo studies have shown that EL is enzymatically hydrolyzed to release active LA (Alcohol Clin Exp Res, 1995), delivering all the known skin benefits of linoleic acid with the added advantage of improved shelf-life and formulation flexibility.

In addition to its role in barrier repair and anti-inflammatory care, Synovea® EL also functions as an effective solubilizer for hydrophobic active ingredients, including Avobenzone and Hexylresorcinol (Synovea® HR), further expanding its value in sunscreen, skin brightening, and anti-aging formulations.

Key Results from Clinical Studies
  • Reduces multiple signs of acne when combined with Triethyl Citrate
  • Enhances skin lightening effect when combined with Synovea® HR
  • Maintains stratum corneum acid mantle

Key Attributes

Synovea® EL delivers a broad range of skin health benefits, including maintaining the natural acidity of the stratum corneum, safeguarding the skin’s barrier function and reducing sebaceous gland activity. It also helps regulate follicular keratinization, inhibits post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, and effectively reduces overall skin pigmentation.

Sytheon limited was purchased in November 2024 and their line of products including this one is now available within the Hallstar Beauty portfolio.
