]]> Biochemica® Pumpkin Oil Refined Organic is an ultra refined USDA-NOP certified organic oil obtained from the seeds of organically grown Cucurbita pepo (pumpkin) by a cold expeller press method. The seeds are not sterilized nor fumigated. It is highly suitable for cosmetics and toiletries due to its light color and mild odor.

Pumpkin seed oil has traditionally been used in Chinese medicine, and more recently in nutraceuticals since it is especially known for its high content of nutrients believed to be beneficial in maintaining a healthy prostate in men. This oil is also known to contain phytosterols and omega-3, -6 and -9 fatty acids, all beneficial to good cellular health.

Biochemica® Pumpkin Oil Refined Organic may be used in body care, soaps, facial creams, lotions and sunscreens to impart moisturization, particularly for dry, damaged skin (e.g., with eczema or psoriasis). Due to its great emolliency, it also makes for a very good massage oil, increasing the “play time” on the skin.

Suggested use levels are balms: 4 – 10%; body lotions & creams: 4 – 10%; topical ointments, nail treatments and after-sun products: up to 10%; hair conditioners: 3 – 5%; bar soaps: 2 – 7%; and hand and foot care products: up to 3%.

Biochemica® Soy Butter Refined is a soft, butter-like material which exhibits excellent spreadability on the skin, making it ideal as a massage butter or carrier for treatment products. As the skin ages, the intercellular bond between the skin cells becomes depleted, making it dry and porous. This causes the skin to become a less effective barrier against moisture loss, and free radicals which can damage otherwise healthy skin. Therefore, the skin needs an infusion of lipids (oil-like substances) to hydrate and protect skin cells. Biochemica® Soy Butter Ref replenishes the lipid bar­rier to help hold in the skin’s intrinsic moisture while softening dry, chaffed and damaged skin.

This product is also useful in hair conditioning products to add moisture, shine and conditioning attribute to hair without using petroleum-based additives.

It adds moisturizing attributes to creams, lotions and bar soaps. May be used in cosmetics, toilet­ries, bar soaps, massage treatments, hair care and sun care applications.
