dermofeel® PA-3: This natural chelating agent effectively inactivates metal ions by forming a complex between the chelator and the metal. Metal ions can enter a cosmetic formulation through the production equipment, as impurities from ingredients (e.g. extracts, pigments) and through process water. In cosmetic products, these ions can promote oxidation reactions, may cause discoloration, or impair the foaming properties of surfactants.

This product can be processed sole or as addition to powder bases. Remarkable properties compared to talcum are the better opacity and the better adhesion to the skin.

A finish of powder or powder bases with RICE NS gives them an impression of velvet skin. This effect is especially appreciated for skin powders and decorative powders. It cannot be achieved to this extent with another raw material.

Additionally RICE NS appears matting, similar to titanium dioxide. Due to the microcrystalline structure of RICE NS a natural soft glimmer and a fluent change from powdered to unpowdered skin areas can be achieved. This is an excellent advantage because the change from powdered to unpowdered skin areas are not defined but flowing.

RICE NS shows a very good opacity, adhesion, and creaminess and does not clog the skin pores. Because of the non-swelling property of RICE NS the lumens of the pores do not wide, even after long-term application (contrary to native rice starch).

This product shows a slightly acid pH-value of approx. 5,5 and is therefore similar to the pH-value of the skin acid cover and preserves it. This is a difference to mineral powder substances, which react neutrally or slightly alkaline.

Tapioca Natural is a native tapioca starch with low plate count. It is in conformity with the BDIH-Standard and the COSMOS-Standard. Low bacterial count by heat treatment and not by gamma sterilization.

These starches are used after emulsification/hot processing (below 40C)  for aesthetic modification (feel, tack reduction, etc). They are also added to the water phase prior to heating, to provide thickening and rheology modification to the formula These starches will gelatinize (cookout) above 70C. Can also be used to create Pickering emulsions.

Our natural certified and organically certified starches provide a cost-efficient solution for a silky skin-feel and good oil absorption with a positive impact on the ingredient label.

As native starches are sensitive to heat treatment in aqueous suspension they have to be added to a cream after the emulsification process (cool down phase at approx. 45°C).
